Comedian and author David Walliams parted ways with publishing house.

Prolific children's author and entertainer David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.

An official for the publisher said: "Following a thorough review, and under the leadership of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing additional books by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the move was reached following an review of claims about questionable actions directed at female individuals.

The company did not confirm the specific rationale behind the move, adding: "We do not comment on private personnel issues."

An Illustrious Literary Career

Walliams stands as a most prolific writers for young readers, boasting over over six tens of millions of copies internationally in five dozen languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins in 2008.

Some of his works, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into television films.

He has published in excess of 40 works altogether, which features a holiday title titled *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins in October.

A Dual Career

His initial claim to fame came on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE several years ago honoring his contributions to charity and the arts.

This development follows the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss in October.
