19 of Daniil Medvedev's 21 victories have been earned on hard surfaces
A revitalized Medvedev won his maiden trophy for nearly 30 months with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament championship match.
The athlete, a former number one, has endured a difficult period, winning just one win at the Grand Slams and experiencing a setback at the New York tournament.
Medvedev's varied form on the ATP Tour - and issues with his service game in particular - led to him exiting of the elite rankings and eventually separating with long-term mentor Cervara.
Currently collaborating with Johansson and Goetzke, he has consistently progressed in the recent weeks - peaking in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over opponent Moutet.
This represents his initial trophy since the Italian tournament and maiden on a hardcourt from that period of 2023.
Success also means the Russian has secured 21 championships at twenty-one various events.
"It's the first time I am participating in a tournament with my two daughters at once, so to get a championship is really nice," stated tennis professional the champion.
"This championship is in honour of my younger daughter her name, because the initial championship I got when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had been defeated in his last six finals, comprising in Halle in the past months.
Medvedev's defensive approach and regular emotional displays on court had caused observers to wonder if his ability to compete at the highest level was over.
But the 29-year-old has altered his approach in recent weeks, attempting to come to the net and play assertively, supported by an enhanced serve.
He recovered from a disadvantage in the opening set against the difficult Moutet, winning four of the last five points to gain the advantage.
The pair exchanged service breaks in the second set before Moutet, bidding for his maiden professional title, seized the initiative to force a decider.
The opponent defended four initial chances in a close deciding set before the Russian won the break to that score to serve for the match.
Fittingly, Medvedev secured the title with a shot at the net, with Moutet unable to control a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
