Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Released from Hospital in Lagos Following Fatal Car Crash
Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, officials in Lagos stated on Wednesday night. The 36-year-old was caught in a vehicular crash near Lagos on December 29th, a tragic incident that resulted in the deaths of two of his valued colleagues.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
The boxer had been receiving medical attention while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his management team stated earlier on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update online that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to continue his recovery at home.
“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two friends who passed away as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the commissioner stated.
Remembering the Victims
The victims of the crash were named as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. It was also noted that the athlete was heartbroken and full of emotions over the tragic loss of his two dear friends.”
